The Schoolroom
Kindergarten Sight Words
In our home, we believe learning should be simple, steady, and filled with encouragement. This kindergarten sight word list was thoughtfully created to support early readers as they begin to recognize common words and build confidence in their reading.
You’ll find a gentle blend of foundational sight words and simple phonics words, making it a practical and meaningful tool for daily practice.
This resource is offered freely in The Schoolroom as a way to bless your home and support your learning rhythms.
A Typical Homeschool Day
There’s a rhythm to our homeschool days… not perfect, not always quiet, but steady.
From morning chores to Bible study, from reading and writing to afternoon rest, our days are filled with small moments that shape hearts more than schedules.
It’s simpler than many might think… and fuller than it may appear.

Understanding a Tomato Plant
Some of the sweetest lessons are the simplest ones
Today, we slowed down and looked closely at something we often pass by…a tomato plant. Leaves, stem, fruit, and soil. Each part quietly does its job, working together just as it was created to.
There was no rush, no pressure, just a few moments of learning, pointing, and wondering together.
It reminded me that learning doesn’t always have to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes, it’s found right in front of us.
If you’d like a simple 15-minute lesson to walk through with your children, I’ve shared it over in the Schoolroom 🤍
You can download the lesson plan and printable and use it at your own pace.
When in doubt, pull out the blocks!
When the day feels a little full and you’re wondering how to keep little hands busy… sometimes the simplest answer is the best one. 🤍
What started as quiet play with blocks turned into an unexpected moment of learning, teaching, and a reminder that our children often know more than we realize. These small, ordinary moments hold so much more than we give them credit for.
Learning & Rest
Sometimes school looks different.
Homeschool learning doesn’t always happen at the table with books and pencils. Sometimes the best lessons come from exploring the countryside, noticing God’s creation, and learning together as a family. Nature walks, curiosity, and everyday moments can be some of the most meaningful homeschool experiences.
